-- THE PROPERTY --
Master Bedroom: Queen Bed | Bedroom 2: Full Bed | Bedroom 3 (Bunk Room): Full Bed, Twin Bed, Twin-over-Twin Bunk Bed
Built in 1993, a local Amish family crafted this home by traditional methods, entirely with large hand peeled logs. The lofted, cedar ceilings with exposed log beams and wood floors enhance its historical feel and old west charm.
Over the last 30 years, the owners of this idyllic property have filled the cabin with their family treasures and unique antique shop finds, to make the experience a true bit of the past. One of their guests said it best when he asked, “is this home on the National Historic Registry?” They are tickled to say that those who have found their log home keep returning here. The owners are pleased that they are now revisited by the second generation of families. Parents today were kids here yesterday and they now are returning to share with their children, the same experiences they had, building new memories.
As you will see in the accompanying photos the cabin is roomy while cozy, providing a wonderful base camp for the adventurous and a respite for those who simply want to swim, canoe & listen to the loons or savor the silence.
Downstairs, the family style Great Room includes an open kitchen, dining and foosball area and opens onto the spacious deck, overlooking the lake. The 34' x 10' deck will quickly become your favorite gathering place for family fun or planning the next days adventures. A 26' x 10' retractable awning provides shelter on a rainy day or a welcome relief from the warm summer sun. Walk around the corner with your book to a porch swing for another shady sitting area on the covered porch.
Although there is a neighboring cabin on either side, the 4.5 acres of woods provide plenty of privacy with a view across the lake of only mountains, water and forest. Various wildlife have been know to pass though, so keep your eyes open for Deer, Moose, Black Bear, Eagle & Osprey to name a few. Spoon Lake is a wake-free lake, so you will always find it peaceful and serene.
